Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead
7 pm Tuesday, Oct. 25 Green Room

Acclaimed as a modern masterpiece, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead is the tale of Hamlet as told from the worm’s-eye view of two minor characters in Shakespeare’s play. In Tom Stoppard’s best-known work, the Shakespearean Laurel and Hardy finally get a chance to take the lead role, but do so in a world where reality and illusion intermix, and where fate leads the two characters to a tragic but inevitable end. Brief appearances of major characters from Hamlet, who enact fragments of the original play’s scenes, add to the bewilderment of the two protagonists, who voice their confusion at the progress of events occurring onstage without them in Hamlet.

Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead will be LALT’s May 2017 production.
