We will be doing both interior and exterior work to get the Performing Arts Center in shape for the 2017-18 season. And this year our 20 year agreement with the County to operate the PAC is up for renewal, so we need to get the building in as good shape and as de-cluttered as possible. Efforts will include winnowing our props and furniture collections.
LALT will host a table reading of “The Glitter Girls,” a new script by
Santa Fe playwright Mark Dunn, at 6:30 pm Saturday, July 15, in the
Performing Arts Center, 1670 Nectar Street in Los Alamos. Admission is free.
A table reading is a device playwrights use to experience a new play as
actors put in through its paces, in this case as they sit around a table
and read from the script. As such, this will not be an open reading but
rather will feature actors who have been recruited and assigned to the

Now that Fourth of July activities are behind us we can all synchronize
calendars for 7 pm Tuesday, July 11, and gather for a play reading of
[title of show].
No, really, the title of the show is [title of show], a one-act musical,
with music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and a book by Hunter Bell. The show
chronicles its own creation as an entry in the New York Musical Theatre
Festival, and follows the struggles of the author and composer/lyricist
and their two actress friends during the initial brief (three-week)
creative period, along with subsequent events leading up to the show’s
off-broadway and broadway productions. Continue reading
