“Rumors” will be performed by LALT in November.

Synopsis: It’s a lovely evening and the Deputy Mayor of New York Charley and his wife Myra are celebrating their 10th anniversary and have invited all their friends. But as they show, Charley is injured and unconscious, Myra is missing, and there’s no food or staff to be found. Hoping to avoid a scandal, the guests go about covering up what they assume to be the truth of the situation. As more of the guests arrive, the conspiracy grows and misunderstandings and miscommunications abound. Once a disaster of a dinner party finally reaches its peak and the guests think they have a handle on how to cover up the scandal, the police arrive! This galloping farce is packed with zingers and wisecracks in classic Neil Simon style.
