“Every Brilliant Thing” – direct from Taos Sat 2/16

Join us this Saturday Evening, February 16th, at 7:30 PM as our theatre friends from Taos bring us a special one-night-only performance of Every Brilliant Thing.

Every Brilliant Thing is an immersive comedy about depression and the lengths we’ll go for those we love. Starring Rita O’Connell, directed by Chelsea Reidy.

This Taos production completely sold out its opening weekend, and now it’s coming to Los Alamos!

You’re seven years old. Mom’s in the hospital because, says Dad, “she’s done something stupid.” So you start to make a list – everything that’s brilliant about the world, everything worth living for. Number 1: ice cream. Number 2: water fights. Number six: roller coasters. Over years, the list grows, evolves, and takes on a life of its own.

Developed by writer Duncan Macmillan with comedian Johnny Donahoe, Every Brilliant Thing premiered in 2014 to rave reviews – the original production is now an acclaimed HBO documentary special. This one-person show weaves steadily from poignant to hilarious and back again, engaging audiences in an immersive theatrical experience that leaves them moved, grateful, and thinking about what might belong on a list of their own.

The play runs just over an hour, with time afterwards for audiences to linger and chat while they sift through the pieces of the list.
