Are you a writer? Have you considered writing a short play that is either about cats or not about cats?

What about directing? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to create art and guide actors at the same time?

Los Alamos Little Theatre is excited to announce our January show: the 8x10s, Nine Lives! This is our ninth cycle of 8x10s, a series of 8, ten(ish)-minute plays.

The 8x10s are one of LALT’s favorite ways to highlight local talent and let people try out roles like directing and acting. We are currently taking submissions for scripts! The due date for scripts is Oct 2nd, 2026 so there is plenty of time still! While we already have our theme of 9 Lives, your script does not have to tie in to the theme.

If you prefer to tell people what to do…I mean direct…we have opportunities for you too! We view the 8x10s as an easy foray into directing since it’s only 10 minutes. Whether you are a first-time director or a seasoned pro, we would love for you to join us! All directors will get access to directing resources and new directors can also request a Director Mentor to guide them through the process. If you’ve ever been curious about directing live theater, now is your chance!
